Arches Vertical Rock ring with .015 ct two white diamonds in 18K yellow gold
The Arches collection is inspired by the fantastic ventifact sculptures found in Arches National Park, in neighboring Utah. A ventifact is a rock that has been abraded, pitted, etched, grooved or polished by wind-driven sand or ice crystals
To achieve this windblown look, I carved each model by hand from wax, then sandblasted the carving with a very abrasive media, which eroded the wax and softened the edges, mimicking the appearance of a ventifact. Anyone who has visited the park will remember Delicate Arch, one of the most iconic of the sculptures, and which is the inspiration and namesake of the Delicate Arch pendant and earrings. Fun fact: ventifacts have also been found on Mars!
